What was awesome in 2015? Top Six Horse Pics of Horsetrotting 2015

Last year at this time, I was thinking about the next year and all the places I’d like to ride.

This year, I’m reflecting on the past 12 months and all the fun I’d already had.

Here’s a list of the top six pics I loved from last year. Some are because I love the photos. But most are because I loved the experience and the image is merely a reminder of the charms of travel far and near.

My best memories of last year involve animals, especially horses.

But I can say that every year.

January 2015: Loved this Norwegian at Deerhurst Resort. I didn’t ride her, but spending a weekend at the resort with the dogs (and riding a Belgian) was my best winter memory. (And winter isn’t known for that).

April 2015: Finally got to ride a Norwegian at Conestoga Trail Rides in Waterloo, Ontario. One of the few pics of me I like. Maybe because I’m totally happy.

July 2015: Pan Am Games were held in Toronto in 2015, and the equestrian events were held in Caledon, Ontario about a two-hour drive from my home. The events were much hyped and met with mixed results, but my photos of the jumping event rocked.

September 2015: I rode and fell in love with a Paso Fino named Chica in Door County, Wisconsin. It was a trip full of pleasant surprises that also provided much fodder for http://www.dogtrotting.net too.

October 2015: Rode my first, bumpy, Standard Bred at a Black Creek Stable trail ride about 20 minutes from my house. Just discovered it last fall. Sometimes there’s no place like home.

November 2015: Love this image from the annual Royal Winter Fair in Toronto, Ontario. Love the tradition of going every year with the gang from Ride with the Wind stables in Brantford, Ontario. Love looking forward to this year.
